Presidents Report
First of all thank you to all that attended the AGM. It was an excellent turnout and proves the club is in great heart. Congratulations to Barry Tustin & Elizabeth Boyd on their reelection to the committee. I would also like to welcome Donna Lynch and Wyn Taylor who have agreed to share the role of welfare officer. Thank you so much for volunteering for this important role. Since the last newsletter we have had two great nights at the Kapiti Club.
The Midwinter Christmas Dinner was hugely successful with plenty of excellent food for even the biggest appetites and great music provided by the fabulous Emerald Brothers. I am sure everyone that attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I know I certainly did. Last Friday night we had a Funny Money gaming night and made around $3500 for the Mary Potter Hospice.
The feedback from members has been terrific. A huge thank you to the Kapiti Rotary Club who made it all possible by being the croupiers for the night. You were all brilliant. You are a great bunch of workers.
Thank you also to the many sponsors who contributed to the prize list and helped raise the amount of money that we did. I look forward to the members supporting all of our up and coming events. The better the support the more encouraged we are to provide such entertainment. Once again your feedback is welcomed. Simply email me at dougpalmer@xtra.co.nz. Dont forget to support all those that sponsor the Kapiti Club. Their contribution must not be underestimated. I look forward to seeing you soon at the Kapiti Club.

Hi everybody. Thank you to one and all that attended the AGM and showed a great vote of confidence to your committee and Club President. I look forward to working alongside them once more. Please note the refurbishment of our furniture has started in the games room and will continue throughout the lounge over the next few weeks. A big Thank you to club member Jeff Pilcher who has taken on this contract and is working his way around the 100+ items so you the members dont experience any inconvenience.
WHAT A GREAT NIGHT last Friday at the fun night to raise money for Mary Potter Hospice. Thanks to those who donated prizes and those who supported the event. Please keep your eyes peeled on the clubs notice boards for the up and coming events and I hope to see you there.

Hurricanes Supporters Adjunct
There is little activity at this time of the year for the Adjunct however we are now keeping a good watch on the Wellington Lions who started off the season with a win against Tasman. A number of the players are from the Hurricanes squad and they are also part of the current All Blacks team. A few of our members went over to the Bledisloe Cup game against the Aussies in Melbourne recently. We werent disappointed with a good result to the ABs. Not long till January and the 2011 Super 15 season.
See you on our raffle nights
Bob Taylor
Outdoor Bowling Adjunct
The new season bowling activities are nearing with most Clubs commencing early October. We are currently looking at a visit from Upper Hutt Cossie Club early October if this suits the Paraparaumu Beach Bowling Club and is convenient to Upper Hutt. This event will replace the April visit cancelled due to poor weather. Members will be advised by our email network kindly organised by Berenice Crowther. The Challange Cup is at stake and we are behind the 8 Ball although are still current holders. The Ladies Nth Island Tournament is to commence early November with entries closing in September. I am pleased to advise that we will have 4 teams at Tauranga for the Ladies tournament. Virtually all our lady members will be attending.
The Men's National Tournament is to be held in Kamo, Whangarei commencing Monday 7th February 2011 and entries close sunday 31st October 2010. To date I am unaware of any prospective entries, possibly due to the distance and Club commitments around that time. Entry forms are on the notice board in the snooker room. Entries need to pass through the adjunct and then the Club for verification and submission. Thank you members for participation in raffle duties. Friday nights are difficult and often we need to sell an extra raffle or two on Saturday night. We normally try and sell four raffles on each night but if the Friday night quota cannot be sold , the duty people must let Grahame or myself know by Saturday.
Good bowling,
Nelson Cressy
Cue Sports Adjunct
The club champs that the Cue Sport Adjunct run for the Kapiti Club are slowly coming to an end. These start around April and come to an end around Sept/Oct. So by the time it's over and the prize giving takes place it's almost time to start all over again. The adjunct hasn't had any interclub challenges since our last letter, but have some in the pipeline. Arrangements for our annual weekend are finalized and this will see 22 members travel to Waipukarau in September.
Monday club nights continue and are getting so popular that some nights we now need to run a separate small tournament on each table to have games over by 10pm. This means there are 3 sets of 1st, 2nd & 3rd place getters, so I will now list winners only. June
winners:- Roger Millar, Bryan Beatie, Noel
Byrne, Pairs:- Grant Turner & Roger Millar.
July winners:- Phil Smith, Graham Stevens,
Brian Beatie, Barrell Gilbert, Pairs:- Roger
Millar & Tony Tyrrell.
Well done all. (Maybe next time my name might make the list.) Cheers and good potting.

Golf Adjunct
Well folks, winter is here. Rain, cold, windy, snow, frost, ice and we still play on. In May we had a visit from Levin and crushed them. In June we had a visit from Waikanae and we crushed them too. These are famous victories. In July we went and played Levin and a great day was had but, unfortunately I was ill and was waiting at home for the angels to come and get me. BJ did the honours for me. On Saturday 18 September, we go to Otaki and we should get a good turnout
I hope you survive the winter and look forward to seeing you.
Your obedient servant
Gordon
